Perhaps inspired by Madame Tussauds museum in London, which houses wax figures of celebrites, a jewellery showroom in Chennai has installed a wax statue of its brand ambassador Madhavan.

The statue, designed by Sunil Kandallor, is strikingly similar to the actor, including the height and weight. Customers visiting the showroom will get a chance to pose with the replica of Madhavan.

Speaking at the unveiling the statue on Tuesday, Madhavan said a similar statue would be installed at the Bengaluru showroom of the jewelers in a couple of weeks. He also posed for photographs along with the statue.

“The promotional initiative is an attempt to enhance customer’s shopping experience. They would be thrilled to see this statue of Madhavan,” said Joy Alukkas, managing director of the jewellery chain.
